Hi. I’m Judy Thornton and I never imagined that I would be on a webpage telling you about myself. I am really too shy for that. But it is important for you to know who you are dealing with when showing interest in a church – whether you come in person or visit electronically.
The Evergreen and Kalispell areas are probably much like other places I suppose. But as I became more and more familiar with the needs here, it struck me how battered and lonely we have become as a Community. It seems we don’t have productive connection with others; and that the byword in relationships today is “take.” Couples navigate through life at the mercy of their changing feelings and emotions; children grow up without rational and intentional guidance; single parents struggle just to get by amid feelings of loneliness – and all seek comfort away from the burden of responsibility. We each are left to our own devices to somehow cope (the best we can) against an army of troubles and difficulties.
Well I just couldn’t sit by any longer. Every Thursday night Restart holds a really precious meeting just for Women. It is a safe place to find connection and encouragement, to dress raw wounds, and at every opportunity to underpin our living by standing on Bible Ground. My personal experience and strong belief is that if we do what we can to live closer to the Jesus path, we will find rest. We will find we are specially God-gifted and that our greatest meaning and significance comes when we share our gifts with others. Permit me to ask you to join us. Just come once. Come see. You will be touched and refreshed.
