Expect Miracles

When you consider your energies and life-pursuits do you make much allowance for God? I mean, do you consciously factor Him in as you consider your way and go about your daily living?  I hope so. My experience makes it plain that the absence of an active dialogue with God means trouble for me. Without reminders of His assurances, belief in His power (and His willingness to use it on my behalf) my world turns colorless – or worse; I am content to occupy my life with things that feed my senses and not my spirit.

One of the greatest Kings in world history grappled with this very issue. And the lesson was so important for both King Nebuchadnezzar and for us that God Himself paid a little visit to him in the form of a predictive dream and a remarkable Jew named Daniel.

Key Bible Verse

The Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, and bestows it on whom He He wishes, and sets over it the lowliest of men…
Daniel 4:17

Take Aways

If we seek to live life on Bible ground, we must correlate an active relationship with God to living life with power. How do you rate your respect for God? Are you so attuned to His interest and involvement in your life that you speak of His attributes to others? Do you accept His sovereignty? Or (like Nebuchadnezzar) fail to recognize His authority and wind up “eating grass” as God strives to get your attention?

Remember, like Nebuchadnezzar, we’ve only to lift our eyes in renewal of our love and commitment to the Lord. It is a that point “our reason and knowledge will return”! But we must get serious about evidencing a Godly framework of relationship. We must bear the fruit of active praise, exaltation, and honor of the Most High God. We must no longer be content with the shallow demonstrations of the “church-goer.” We need to evidence Godly character in renewals of truth and justice in our decision-making; to lavish mercy on those in our circle of influence. When these factors are in place, when we are doing our part to permit God his work in us (the work of “humbling those who walk in pride”) then we will be in a position to expect miracles! We are in need of miracles; God is waiting to create one for you!
