The Furnace You Face

The Furnace You Face

I’m not big fan of problems or inconveniences. Life holds enough challenge without contrary forces messing with my MoJo. Today we encounter the famous account of the “Three Men in the Fiery Furnace”. Here we find some people in the midst of trouble without deserving it – besides just standing up for what they believed. This is a great place to find Bible-ground regarding the trials you face. But no way the Bible says your struggles will necessarily grow easier. As the quote below suggests, you need to get your game face on.

Key Bible Verse

Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.  But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up
Daniel 3:17,18

Take Aways

One insight became clear through this study of the men in the fiery furnace. Our actions and intentions comprise a form of worship; that the Almighty God views the things we think and aim to do as an outworking of our gratitude (or ingratitude) towards Him. In fact our conviction about God, our confidence in Him, and our commitment to Him evidence themselves most clearly during difficult times. It is precisely at these moments we are empowered to “dig in”, face our trials and project our worship as never before – because worship is not dependent upon what God does for us.

The pilgrim on the Jesus Path need remember, whether saved from the furnace (as Daniel was) or saved through it (as the three young men) we are nonetheless saved.

There is nothing easy in life. All comes at a cost. The relationship Believers have with God came at the cost of blood – the Blood of the “Lamb of God Who taketh away the sin of the world.” Please check out the video. Perhaps you will discover some take-aways to help you deal with the Furnace you Face!
