What is Your View of God?

What is Your View of God?

When I look at Daniel through the lens of Chapter 9, I get yellow caution-lights flashing in my skull. This is because (sorry for the simplicity) I am not Daniel. And this means the actions Daniel takes, the words and conclusions he draws are framed within his viewpoint of who God is. You can see the immediate difficulty. Unless I am Bible-Grounded in my personal view of God (as Daniel most assuredly was) my conclusions from the text may be mislead me or at the least be ineffectual in helping me along the Jesus path.

Consequently, I felt it important to pause from the verse to verse work of Daniel 9 to concentrate effort in providing the folks at Restart adequate tools for self-assessment of their view of God.

Key Bible Verse

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13

Take Aways

One of the principle conclusions from our work in this lesson was to understand and acknowledge the following three points:

  • What I think about God will affect my interactions with Him
  • What I think about God will affect my further understanding of self, destiny
  • What I think about God is directly related to the honesty of my efforts to know Him

The balance of the study was to view God as God presents Himself in from 2 Samuel.  Each of these terms were explored and illuminated in order to inspire us all to have these viewpoints be an active truth to us.  At this juncture, I only ask that you take a brief moment to examine yourself to determine if these designations are applicable to your personal view of God:

  • My Rock
  • My Fortress
  • My Deliverer
  • My God
  • My Rock
  • My Refuge
  • My Shield
  • The Horn of My Salvation
  • My Stronghold
  • My Refuge
  • My Savior

Please take a moment to listen to the video. I know it will furnish you will food for thought – and most importantly, a Bible-grounded view of God.
